Algebra 2 and Algebra 2 Honors: Junior Seminar/SAT classes continue this week with an SAT exam to be given on Friday, based on course material.
Geometry: We will finish our Geometry lessons by working with special right triangles in Chapter 10. A final quiz for the marking period will be given on Friday.

Geometry: A quiz will be given on Tuesday covering the volume of pyramids, cones, and spheres. A test on Chapter 9 – calculations of surface area and volume of solids – will be given on Thursday. You must bring your textbooks to class.

Algebra 2: We will perform all operations with polynomials this week. A quiz is scheduled for Wednesday (Periods A and B) and Friday (Period G).
Algebra 2 Honors: This week we will perform operations with functions, including composition of functions. Bring textbooks to class on Tuesday.
Geometry: We will continue to calculate the volume of solids, including pyramids, cones, and spheres. A quiz on pyramids and cones is scheduled for Thursday. Bring textbooks to class.

Algebra 2: We will begin the week with evaluating polynomial functions using synthetic substitution. A test on Wednesday will cover sections 6.1 and 6.2 – simplifying exponents, direct substitution, and synthetic substitution. We will then begin operations with polynomial functions.
Algebra 2 Honors: This week we will be evaluating nth roots of numbers using radical notation, exponent notation, and solving equations, with a quiz scheduled for Thursday.
Geometry: We will be calcuating the volume of solid figures, beginning with the volume of prisms and cylinders. A quiz on volume is scheduled for Thursday.

Algebra 2: We will continue to evaluate and simplify exponents (6.1), with a quiz scheduled for Wednesday. Bring textbooks to class all week. We will then begin the next section with evaluating and performing operations on polynomial functions.
Algebra 2 Honors: We will continue factoring polynomial expressions with special patterns. A quiz on factoring is scheduled for Wednesday. We will then begin Chapter 7 – evaluating nth roots of numbers.
Geometry: Monday’s quiz will cover the surface area of cones. We will continue to review surface areas during the week with a test on solid figures and all surface areas (9.1-9.3) on Thursday. Bring textbooks to class this week.

Algebra 2: We will continue working with the quadratic formula and discriminant, with a quiz scheduled for Tuesday (Period G) and Thursday (Periods A and B). We will then begin Chapter 6 – evaluating and simplifying exponents.
Algebra 2 Honors: A test on Tuesday will cover Chapter 6, sections 1 through 5 (excluding section 4): exponents and operations with polynomials. We will then finish Chapter 6 - factoring expressions.
Geometry: We will continue calculating surface areas and slant heights of pyramids and cones, with a quiz Wednesday on the surface area of pyramids.

All classes: Assignments during spring break due Monday!
Algebra 2: We will review the process of solving quadratic equations by completing the square and using complex numbers. A test on sections 5.4 and 5.5 will be given on Wednesday, and then we’ll continue solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula.
Algebra 2 Honors: We will be dividing polynomials using long and synthetic division with a quiz on Thursday, including all polynomial operations.
Geometry: We will be calculating surface areas of prisms and cylinders with a quiz on Thursday, and then begin solving the surface area of pyramids.

Geometry: We will begin concepts in Chapter 9 – identifying solid figures and understanding surface areas.

Geometry: We will finish Chapter 8 this week, with a test on Thursday covering polygons and area.

Algebra 2: We will continue solving quadratic equations with square roots, and a quiz on square roots and equations will be given on Wednesday (Chapter 5, section 2). We will then solve quadratic equations with complex solutions and perform operations with complex numbers.
Algebra 2 Honors: A quiz on Wednesday will cover evaluating and simplifying expressions with exponents (Chapter 6, section 1), and then we will be evaluating polynomial functions using direct and synthetic substitution.
Geometry: We will continue calculating the areas of polygons, including the triangle, parallelogram, rhombus, and trapezoid (Chapter 8, sections 4 – 6). A quiz on the areas of polygons will be given on Thursday.
